For three consecutive days from February 22 to 24, 2009, thousands of fans filled up the Olympic Fencing Gymnasium in the Seoul Olympic Park to take part in Super Junior’s Super Show, their first ever solo concert since making their debut three years ago. [NEWS] Hankyung Will Be Absent From Super Junior Concerts; Fans Refunds Their Ticets To Support Contract Termination

At Hunan Satellite Television’s New Year Concert, idol group Super Junior-M still appeared to perform but while the fans were pleasantly surprised, they also discovered that of the original 7 member group only the Chinese leader, Han Geng, was missing. According to reports, Han Geng’s contract termination case will commence on 8 January in Korea. If he is able to get the court to ratify it, Han Geng may gain his freedom as early as March 2010. His lawyer stated that Han Geng will temporarily not participate in any of SM’s performance activities. Yesterday, reporters also found out from Han Geng’s fan websites that it is probable that he will be absent from Super Junior’s concert that is to be held on 23 January in Beijing. Organizers are already accepting ticket refunds from fans.

On 31 December 2009 at Hunan Satellite Television’s New Year Concert, Super Junior-M’s appearance became the focal point. Fans very quickly discovered that Han Geng, who is involved in terminating his contract, remained absent. Only the other 6 members performed <> etc [ translator’s note: this is Zhang Liyin’s song, SJ-M performed “Super Girl” and “Mi” ]. In relation to this, Han Geng’s lawyer revealed that at present Han Geng is on holiday and will temporarily not participate in any performance activities because Han Geng himself feels unwell and needs some time to recuperate. He is not in contact with his company because he is worried it will lead to unnecessary disputes. Also, it’s because he has already applied to the court to commence his lawsuit and his lawyers have recommended that he temporarily not participate in any of SM’s performance activities.

The contract termination case for the leader of Korea’s popular idol group Super Junior-M, Han Geng, will commence on 8 January in Korea. He has already submitted an “agreement to suspend the contract” and an “invalid contract lawsuit”. Han Geng’s lawyer revealed that to prevent SM from using delay tactics, Han Geng especially submitted an “agreement to suspend the contract”, which should it be ratified, then Han Geng will gain his freedom as early as March 2010.

On 10 January, Super Junior will start its Asia tour in Guangzhou and it will also hold a concert on 23 January in Beijing. Earlier there was news that SM was using SJ’s Chinese member Han Geng’s contract termination case to promote Super Junior’s Beijing concert this year. In relation to this rumour, the organizers stated that “this cannot be promotion, the tickets were already sold out early on, there is no need to do that.” The organizers stated that at present everything is proceeding smoothly and they have not received any news that Super Junior will not be coming to Beijing or that Han Geng will be absent. Yesterday, reporters discovered from Han Geng’s Baidu forum that fans are requesting that their tickets be refunded, “it’s because there is no way to confirm whether Han Geng will be participating in the Beijing concert on 23 January, after reaching agreement with the organizers it is possible to refund tickets. Refunding tickets is on a voluntary basis, please carefully consider before making you choice.” Many fans indicated that refunding their tickets is the most effective way of showing support for Han Geng: “support this, Han Geng’s fans refunding their tickets is the best support for Han Geng! We must not let SM take advantage of this opportunity, saying that if Han Geng is not there, the fans will still be as passionate as before.”

The reference to Guangzhou and 10 January 2010 is not correct.

The tour all the Super Junior fans have been waiting for, Super Show 2!!!! The tour is from 2009 - 2010 in Asia. Their first city is obviously Seoul on three dates: July 17, 18 and 19. Super Junior has also planned to tour 10 more asian cities like Beijing, Shanghai, Taipei and BAngkok. The tickets for all three Seoul concerts were sold out in just 10 minutes! Are any of you guys going to their concerts?

In reponse to widespread rumors circulating that 5 other Super Junior members besides Hankyung had also filed lawsuits against SM Entertainment for unfair contract terms, the latter has issued a strongly worded statement on 29th December to refute the claims.

In the aftermath of Hankyung filing a lawsuit against SM Entertainment, there were reports afterwards that 5 other Super Junior members, Leeteuk, Yesung, Kangin, Eunhyuk and Donghae had done likewise. It also stated that because of Hankyung's nationality, his case was made public first before the others.

But SM Entertainment has issued a strong rebuttal stating that the news report claiming that 5 Super Junior members had filed lawsuits against them for unfair contracts were fabricated and untrue. And if such fabricated reports are published again in future, SM Entertainment will seek legal action against the publisher and the reporter.

The statement was signed off by SM Entertainment's CEO Kim Young Min and the affected Super Junior members.

Despite his larger appearance, Shin Dong is known to be one of the four lead dancers and the group's dance choreographer, creating dances for the bandmates whenever they make dance performances. Cho Kyu Hyun's singing talents were discovered after he won third place at the Chin Chin Singing Competition in 2005. He soon signed under SM Entertainment and was featured in the video remake of TVXQ's single "Hi Ya Ya" along with other Chin Chin Idols.

Before Kyu Hyun's addition to Super Junior, the original twelve members were said to be separating and "graduating" as the band was still presented as a project group at the time, the concept being very similar to Japan's popular girl group, "Morning Musume". He is the only Chinese member of Super Junior and is the first foreign artist to break into the Korean music industry. He is one of the two members in the group who frequently performs Chinese martial arts in Super Junior's dance routines, the other being Lee Sung Min. He is also known for his dancing skills, particularly skillful in Chinese traditional dances from the fifty-six minority Chinese ethnic groups. He is one of the four lead dancers of Super Junior and an important figure to further continue the Korean wave in China. China Audition Casting that was held in Beijing, China, where the competition rate was 3000 to 1. He made his debut in the Korean television drama, "April Kiss" in 2004. Although debuted as an actor, he achieved higher results as a singer after his music debut with Super Junior in 2005.

Ki Bum was born in Seoul, South Korea. He has a younger sister, Kim Sun Young. He is also the cousin of famous actor and model, Shin Dong Wook. At the age of ten, he moved to Los Angeles, California, United States where he attended his high school years at Santa Monica High School.

In 2002, he was discovered by a talent agent from South Korea and was recommended to audition for the Starlight Casting System, a casting system organized by South Korea's largest entertainment company and label SM Entertainment, and also the home of top Korean Pop acts like BoA and TVXQ.
